Princess Mononoke

A colleague once said that if anime movie is being talke about he would rally for Princess Mononoke. He said that movie was really good. Lucky for me after five years I found the movie. Well it’s not as if I have been looking for it for all those years.. hell no. hehe.. Finally I got my hands on it. I watched it. I should agree with my friend back there. It was a good movie.

The protagonist Prince Ashitaka journeyed to the west to seek for answers. I wont detail the plot. How the writers thought about it because I am not a good critic and besides it will bore you, not to mention I’ll be the one telling. It’ll make worse.. Hehe.. Well, to seek for answers with unclouded eyes is just.. well not impossible but ..hmm very difficult.

This is what I like anime. It gives you the freedom to imagine. You think that what you are seeing is just a pigment of your imagination, but later you realize, it happens to you one way or another on that exact situation. Well, Prince Ashitaka’s character was really someone to look up to. He has this control over his hatred and fear. He managed to see the effect of these two on our soul. He was a saint. haha.. He could be.

One of the things that struck me in the movie was saying thanks to the people who somehow tried to kill you. Let ask you. Can you do this? While pushing the gate all by himself, carrying the wolf Princess Mononoke on his back, with a bullet on his chest, he managed to say thanks. Wow! In this contemporary time, I don’t know if anyone of us can do that. For him, it was easy. I guess. Easy for the one who has achieved an unclouded eyesight. One who has to see good in every bad.

I wish I could be like that.
